2019 is Here and we are loving The Alaska Winter!

It’s winter flying here. The snow hasn’t been real great for skis. 42 today and  -10+ three days ago! One Cub went through the ice last week. I am playing it safe and staying on Bushwheels a while longer. You can see from the pics we have had a bit of snow then it melts. The pic of the the Stinson to the left was on 1/10/19. Not much snow! A bit icy though….I had to get out at the end of our strip and turn it around by hand. We should be moved in by the end of February. That will make it an 8 month build. It’s been mostly my wife and I. My neighbor Greg has also been a big help. Oh about 10,000 how you-tube videos. We also ferried five aircraft up from outside in that same 8 months!

Wow Fast 2018 Summer!

Crazy busy summer. Fall is days away and we are going for it. I leave in a few days to ferry up yet another plane to Alaska. That is five trips this summer to Alaska. A tricked out Maule from OR, Cessna 172 from NY, Piper Comannche from San Diego, Piper J-3 from CA and leaving to get the Stinson! Oh did I mention two road trips up to Alaska this year. The Hanger-House is coming along. Our goal is to be in this November.

2018 Summer in Alaska

Just back from my second ferry trip up to Alaska from the lower 48 in the last few weeks. I picked up the Maule in Oregon for my neighbor in Alaska. The old straight tail 172 I bought in up state NY. Both were fun trips but I took the 172 up the coast. In all the trips to Alaska over my life this was the first time I did the coast. Wow it was awesome! The Cessna is up for grabs if you know anyone looking for a very straight but ugly 172.

2018 In Alaska

2018 Is here and going fast. We are here in Alaska and loving it. Sterling will be our new base of operations complete with a new hanger, shop and home! Our focus this summer is to finish our building project. We are still flying, helping out on some Cub projects, ferrying aircraft and helping out our friends in the aviation community.

Face your fears and live your dream!

Winter 2017

Super fun winter so far! My wife and I just got back from two weeks in the Stinson. We did Utah, Nevada, Arizona and back through California. We didn’t pack light and the 180 lycoming in the Stinson is proving to be a great combination. Our California place is in escrow and we should be be moved up to Alaska in April. We are going to keep our two Red Bluff hangers in Northern California. My preach is this…enjoy your airplane. You bought it for a reason make time to go use it. It is a big wonderful world. Make sure you see it from the air.
